9th Annual Show Choir Concert

Cold weather got you down? Looking to get in the holiday spirit? Come to our 9th annual Show Choir Holiday Concert! This Thursday, December 5th at 7:30 pm. Doors open at 7 pm. Featuring music of Styxx, Journey, Madonna, and holiday songs from White Christmas and much more! Donations collected but all are welcome!  

Bay View Athletics Fundraiser Nights

A&W (2002 Velp Ave) will donate 15% of sales from every food and beverage purchase to the Bay View Athletics Department for jerseys from 5pm - 9pm on the following dates:

February 3 and 17

Choir Concert Tonight!

Our Winter Choir concert is this evening at 7:30pm in the Bay Port PAC. All choir students should arrive to Bay Port by 7:15pm in concert uniform. 7th graders, please bring your dozen baked goods. 8th graders bring your assigned juice, plates, napkins or cups. We hope to see you tonight for our performance!

Veterans Day Ceremony

Bay View Students and Staff gathered at the flag pole on Veterans Day to honor all Veterans.  After the flag was raised, everyone recited the "Pledge of Allegiance", there was the playing of Taps

and all returned to classrooms in silence to show respect to all who served.

Student Fees

The fees for 2019-2020 are now available for payment at https://www.studentquickpay.com/hssd/
or by cash/check at any school. The technology insurance fees must be paid by November 15th as communicated previously.

If you feel that your family qualifies for a fee waiver, please fill out the online application at https://www.myschoolapps.com/Application or a paper copy in any school office. If you have qualified for meal benefits through Direct Certification and have not filled out the waiver form, please fill out the Sharing Information with Other Programs form.

Golden Apple Nominations are Due October 31st

Cross Country Meet Cancelled

Due to the trail conditions, Parkview Middle School has canceled the Cross Country Meet for today, Oct, 3rd.

A make up meet is not scheduled at this time.

Bay View Idol

Auditions are complete and our top 8 soloists have been revealed for this years Bay View Idol! Please plan to attend our performance this Thursday, October 3 at 7:00pm. Admission is a suggested $5 donation at the door. All proceeds support this year's musical. We will also have a bake sale. All musical hopefuls, please provide a dozen baked goods for the bake sale and drop them off in the Bay View lunch room by 6:15pm Thursday. Come with a positive spirit to cheer on your friends!

Multiple Practices/Games Cancelled

The following teams do not have practice today, Tuesday, October 1st: Soccer and Cross Country. 

Both the 7th and 8th grade White teams game against Luxemburg/Casco has been canceled today as well, there will be no practice today for those teams either.

The Blue game at Ashwaubenon is on today as scheduled.

Cross Country Meet Cancelled

The BV cross country meet that is scheduled for tonight at Denmark, Mon. Sept. 23rd is cancelled. Students will have practice instead of the meet today.

Pulaski Cross Country Meet Cancelled

The BV cross country meet that is scheduled for tonight in Pulaski, Thurs. Sept. 19th is cancelled due to the amount of rain we have received. Students will have practice instead of the meet today.

Dungeons and Dragons Club at Bay View

Due to the success of the Dungeons and Dragons club at Lineville, we are hoping to start a club at Bay View. We would like to get an idea of how many members we might have. Please join the Schoology group for more information if you are interested: RJRM-B52H-RFJJQ

Bay View Travel Club

The world is changing Bay View students! It is becoming much more global. In your lifetime, you will probably travel to numerous locations, whether it be for study, for work or for pleasure. So why not start getting ready to travel now? The Bay View Travel Club is designed to look at different cultures, travel etiquette, etc. This club will offer once a month meetings. The culminating event will be for a group of us to travel to Costa Rica in June of 2020. We have already started filling spots, but would love to add additional travelers! If interested in finding out more, please plan to attend (with a parent) an informational meeting on Wednesday, September 18th in the Bay View LMC from 6-7pm. If planning to attend, please RSVP to Ms. Swinford at maryswin@hssdschools.org. Other advisors are Ms. Wood and Mrs. Bieszk. (Current travelers -- this is a repeat of our spring meeting, so you do not need to attend. Next meeting will be Thursday, 10/17 after school.)

Show Choir

Attention Show Choir members- reminder rehearsal this week: Wednesday 3:30-5:00. If you are in athletics, go there first and report to the choir room by 4:00. All others, report to choir room after school for study hall until rehearsal starts at 3:30.  

BV Soccer Needs Girl Players

Bay View Soccer is looking for a few more girls to join our teams. We have enough girls to play, but we would like a few more to ensure breaks. If you might be interested, please contact Mr. Christie, or Ms. Gause, or come to a practice, and we will get you set up. All experience levels welcome.

CC Meet Cancelled for 9/10/19

Tonight's cross country meet at DePere Middle School has been cancelled due to wet conditions. We will replace the meet with practice tonight.

Fall Sports

 
Volleyball, Soccer and Cross Country starts Sep 4th after school until 4:20. To sign up have a parent or guardian visit the Bay View Athletic page and register. A clearance form signed by a doctor is needed to participate. Athletic shoes and clothes are required.

PLC "Late Start"

Our first PLC "Late Start" is Tuesday, Sep. 10. Class begins at 8:00. Students that ride the bus will be picked up at the normal time and when you arrive to school you will go to a supervised study hall until class begins. Students who walk to school need to wait outside until the 7:54 bell rings. 

Open House - Tuesday, August 27th - 6-7:30 pm

Listed below is information that will help make the night successful:

• SCHEDULES:  Bring a copy of your schedule with you (or your iPad) so you can walk through it.  NOTE:  Printed copies of schedules will be available in the BV Galley, if needed.
• SCHEDULE ERRORS:  Report any schedule errors to your Advisor.  He/she will report any errors to the office and have them corrected prior to the first day of school.  NOTE:  It is our policy to NOT make changes to house or classes unless there is a serious reason, new diagnosis, etc.
• LOCKER ISSUES:  Report any locker issues to your Advisor.  He/she will report any issues to the office and have them fixed prior to the first day of school
• MEDICATIONS:  Medication forms and medications should be brought to the Student Center
• ATHLETICS:  Athletic forms should be brought to the Main Office
• SCHOOL FEES:  School fees will NOT be collected at Open House. 
• BOOK FAIR: Be sure to check out our Book Fair in the BV Galley during open house.

MESSAGE FROM OUR SCHOOL NUTRITION:  We welcome you to the BV Cafeteria (located in the BV Galley).  Please visit us for a fresh homemade soup sample and learn what the cafeteria serves daily.  We encourage families to ask our helpful staff about current account balances, questions regarding online payments or any questions on a free and reduced meal application.  We look forward to serving your family.

Sign up for the Summer Reading Adventure at any Brown County Library!  The kickoff event is Saturday, June 8th from 10am -noon at the Central Library at 515 Pine St. in downtown Green Bay.

Bay Port Youth Girls Golf Camp

Play some golf and have fun with the current Bay Port Girls team (coaches and players). The Pirates are the two-time defending WIAA Sectional champs and defending FRCC conference champs. In 2018, sophomore team member Jo Baranczyk was the Division 1 state champion!!

What: Learn the basics of golf from driving to putting. Coaches and players will work with
individuals on the proper techniques used in the golf swing. Friday, August 2nd will be a mini-golfing day as well. The fee includes range balls, instruction, and mini golf.

Bay Port Cheer

8th graders boys and girls try something new! Come to the Bay Port Cheerleading try outs: Mon. April 15th (Learning day): 3:45 - 6:00, Tue. April 16th (Learning day): 3:45 - 6:00 in the Bay Port Commons. Try out day will be Wed. April 17th: 3:45- ?, meet in the down stairs blue pod. Hope to see you there! 

District Choir Performance

This Thursday, April 11 is our District Choir Concert in the Bay Port Gym. All Boys in choir report to the Bay Port Choir room by 5:30pm. All girls in choir report to the Bay Port Gym by 5:55 and be in your seat silently by 6:00pm for our full group rehearsals. Gym doors will open for the public around 6:40pm with the performance 7:00pm-8:00pm. All choir students, please wear your choir shirt and black, brown or khaki pants.

NEW Donate Life Walk - Saturday, April 13

The 7th annual NEW Donate Life Walk is on Saturday, April 13th. This walk is sponsored by Bay View Student Council and they would like to make this years walk the biggest and the best so far.  

Let's taco about organ donation!! Do you know that there are over 114, 000 people in the US awaiting a life-saving organ transplant? Did you know that YOU have the power to save up to eight different lives with your decision to donate an organ? If you stop and think for a moment, you can probably think of at least one person in your life who has been affected by organ transplantation, either as a donor or a recipient.

    

     For the last six years, Bay View Student Council has made this one of their causes by sponsoring a 2.5 fun run/walk to help raise money for the Donate Life Wisconsin organization, which is very near and dear to our hearts. Our two Student Council advisors have both been affected by organ transplantation. Mrs. Burant’s son, Ethan, had a life-saving liver transplant in 2010 and Ms. Swinford’s brother, who passed away at the early age of 39, was a donor. This April 13th is the 7th annual NEW Donate Life Walk and Bay View Student Council would like it to be the biggest and the best so far! The goal is to raise $20,000 and to have over 500 people attend our walk! To do this, Bay View Student Council is asking for your help. Here are some ways that you might consider helping:

All you have to do is order some sandwiches or pizza and mention our walk, and your ticket will be added to the proceeds they count towards us! Coupons for free breadsticks at Heartland will be given out at the walk on April 13th!

    

    Organ, tissue and eye donation is a gift that saves and heals thousands of lives each year. It’s a gift that relies on the generosity of others – even with the best in medicine and technology, transplantation is not possible without one person giving selflessly to another. District Music Festival This Saturday!

Our Howard Suamico School District and Music Parent club will host our District Music Festival this Saturday, February 9 from 8:00-4:00 at Bay View Middle School.  Students will be performing solos and ensembles from Orchestra, Band, Choir and Piano throughout the day.  Everyone is welcome to come and enjoy musical sounds any time throughout the day.  Concessions will be provided for purchase with all funds going back to support the HSSD music programs.  See you there@

Yearbook Forms

Harmann Studios has extended the due date for yearbook order forms.  The forms are now due Thursday, February 7th.

Drop Off on Cardinal and Woodale

During this colder weather season, please be reminded that our designated drop off areas on Cardinal and Woodale are intended only to drop and go.  Cars may not stop, park, and wait with a student in the car.  Signs are posted by the Village of Howard and will be monitored by local law enforcement.  Thank you.
