Head Lice (Pediculosis)

Now that we are all back to school, a reminder to all that with close contact comes the increased chance of spreading head lice. Please help us by taking initiative on checking your child’s hair closely if you suspect head lice. Head lice are tiny, wingless insects that live on the human scalp and are transmitted by direct head-to-head contact because lice do not fly or jump. Early identification is important as well as continued daily combing for nits (lice eggs) at home if lice is identified. Having nits is not a reason to miss school. Please utilize the attached document for further information as well as treatment options.
